I own Studio Wireless 1's. The speakers I use in my home audio system are Totems with a Yamaha receiver. I mostly listen to hip-hop, jazz, classical, and deep house. My review is mostly around upgrading from Studio Wireless 1's.Is it my imagination or do these 3's don't hit as hard as the wireless 1's? It doesn't feel like it. Something new I discovered is that the low freq are present-more than in my 1's. It's nice-it's that rumbling bass. I'm just not happy that the 808s don't hit as hard as expected. Same sound stage as 1's which isn't much but there is some. They're not as open as some headphone/amp combos I've tried (I'm listening via Studio 3 and iPhone). I WANT to see my music and feel each musician in front of me to the left or right, close or farther away. But I had to replace my Wireless 1's cuz the ear pads were chewed up from being old (the old leather was breaking up in to annoying small bits). New ear pads off Amazon were $46. So $199 for Studio 3's, I just decided to upgrade. Apple AirPods Max were on my list, but the price of those were putting me off. I would have liked to try spatial audio and the fit. In the end with the genres of music I listen to and the fact I want to support Dre led me to pull the trigger on Studio 3's.If you're deciding on headphones, know that my 1's would slip from my ears. A girl I saw using AirPods Max said that wasn't happening to her. Studios are comfortable to wear. For colors, I'm missing matte grey. I got mine in black.Very well worth it and on sale. It was easy to pull the trigger on these.Update 9/17/2022: After I wrote the review I found that on Android there are EQ apps that will help tune headphones to help them sound better. I personally use Wavelet now and with that these do sound really good now and clear up some of my criticisms about the sound in the original review. That being said, I can't find anything similar for iOS, so keep that in mind!I'll mention first that I didn't buy these headphones at full price, or anything close to it. At their original MSRP ($350) look elsewhere and don't look back, these get blown away by Sony and Bose and others at that price point. Once you get down to about $200 though? These start to look more tempting.I already have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x's which have amazing sound, but no ANC, so they're great for around the house, but I needed a pair with ANC for work travel, so I took a chance on the Beats on a sale, and at a sale price, I'm pretty happy with them. The sound isn't bad, I know I've heard other people say there isn't a whole lot of bass. It does seem like that varies heavily from song to song, some give a nice, but never muddy, thump, others do feel a little lacking. Highs are pretty nice and crisp and come through well, it's the mids on these headphones that tend to be a bit muddled. It's by no means bad, but I'm also comparing it to some pretty good can headphones in roughly the same price range and the Audio Technica's win hands down there.ANC is probably the best feature of the headphones. It does a great job of keeping out engine noise when flying. Sony and Bose will do better at the Beats original price point, but at a sale price they do a very good job. You will run into a few weird quirks of it, for example I could hear it fighting the noise of a rough road while on a rental car shuttle which made for an interesting effect, but largely it just works and keeps out the noise well.Battery life seems to be pretty much what they're rated for, so no complaints there and the build quality seems solid. When using the controls, you will hear a clicking sound from the press, which I know some people have criticized. But, despite that, the controls are easy and intuitive. The look of them is pretty nice as well, but it would be nice if the ear cups to rotate to be flat on your chest, but that's a minor nitpick. Finally, the great irony, these actually seem to work better on my personal Pixel phone than my work iPhone, despite being an Apple product. The Android Beats app allows for better control of the headphones and the ANC, not to mention actually giving you a battery percentage as opposed to just a circle that gives you an approximate value. And with the Beats app installed, the pairing process was just as easy on my Pixel as it was for my work phone.Overall, they're solid headphones, but wait to catch them at the right price.i got this as a gift for my boyfriend since he has a habit of breaking his earbuds somehow.i was a little skeptical because theyre more expensive than other headphones/earbuds but hes never had beats before and i know that they last. i have the wireless beats earbuds and so far theyve lasted 3 years of studying, walking to classes, and workouts. i would expect these to last just as long. the headphones got here within the time that was expected and he absolutely loves them!i got to try them and theyre very comfortable and even got me thinking about getting a pair myself. the noise cancelling was ok but then again ive never had noise cancelling so i dont know if my expectations were too high. anyway, they were super easy to set up and the battery on them is insane!!sidenote: if youre worried about the leathery part ripping or getting stained i would recommend getting covers for them. they fit over perfectly and come in different colors and theyre on amazon! So i bought this set mainly due to the work from home situation, and to block some noise from the babies screaming or running around. It was quite a deception in the end. Here it goes:Pros:++ Unboxing, i must admit was great. It feels like if you were discovering a diamond.+ Design looks great+ Bluetooth connexion on Galaxy S9 mobile was flawless. Never had a signal drop or anything. Range was also amazing.+ Battery life.. Wow. Dropped only by 12% after hours of use.Neutral:= Microphone quality is OK, but does sound muffled from what I was told.= Sound quality is not amazing. Lots of bass, but no crispness on instruments or vocals. It was a huge drop from my Ath-m50x.= Noise cancellation is OK. It does block a lot monotonous noises like fan. But kids scream or people voice would get in as if I had no headphones at all. I also felt a lot of pressure on my inner ears when using it. Also note that there is a white noise with ANC on and no music.Cons:- Comfort: I couldn't wear the headphones more than 30 minutes at a time. I have a bigger than average head. Clamp force is strong and I would get intolerable jaw pain on both sides.- Built quality : Built feels cheap, I was particularly scared of the folding hinges, I would recommend not folding them at all, if possible.- - : Not compatible with MS Teams on PC, which was the main reason to use those for my work meetings. You can use audio, but only if you use an alternate microphone (webcam, laptop, etc).- Does not support multiple Bluetooth connections.-Mobile App: Useless, tested on Android. You can only rename the headphones, update the firmware, and turn ANC on/off. That's it. No EQ, no ANC tune-up, nothing. Conclusion : Useless for my needs, I returned them.I bought this headphones. Now I have no idea what to do with them. They came without user manual and no charger. It's a useless dead toy in nice box. Thinking of sending them back.I love my Airpod Pros, but I find them uncomfortable to wear at the office for long durations (also taking them off is awkward to set them down); I also find them lacking the depth/bass over a traditional headphone.I purchased the Solo Pro's because I enjoy the pairing experience and controls on my iPhone - however, I found those headphones uncomfortable to wear. Also it's clear they emphasized the noise/transparency features over depth of sound. These Studio 3s on the other hand are over-ear (do not touch the ears) and offer more bass/depth. The noise cancellation is great - albeit not my main reason for buying these. It is easy to pair with my phone or my laptop - and the controls on the side of the headphones are easy to use. Very happy with this purchase.
