This HDMI transmitter works very well. I hooked the receiver up to a 70" Sharp TV in my detached garage man cave. The receiver comes with an international power adapter which of course works but I plugged the USB cable from the receiver into a nearby surge protector with a USB port on it and the receiver worked with no issues. It appears the receiver needs approximately 5 volts and 2 amps. The receiver came with a 9 inch HDMI cable but I connected a 6 foot HDMI cable to it and it worked fine.The transmitter is HDMI so your laptop or whatever device you want to use as a transmitter must have an HDMI port on it. If your laptop HDMI port doesn't supply power than you'll need to plug the included transmitter USB cable into a free USB port on the laptop. Once I made the couple of necessary connections the puck was transmitting to the receiver with no issues and no other setup needed. I fired up a YouTube video on the Microsoft Surface Laptop and I could not discern any lag between what I was seeing on the laptop and what I was seeing on the TV. The audio appeared to be in perfect sync as well. I walked out of the garage approximate 75 feet with the laptop and could still see and hear the video playing on the TV. I had line of sight of course but I was impressed it was still working at that distance.It appears to me that the receiver acts as a wireless access point. I noticed it was broadcasting an SSID named after the product name and displaying an IP of 192.168.203.x. The puck must be preprogrammed to automatically connect to that SSID. Since I only have one puck I was not able to test if multiple pucks would work but I'd assume they would. I just don't know if the receiver can display input from multiple pucks at the same time.Very happy with this HDMI transmitter/receiver.
